What Manufacturers Need From Warehousing in 2026, and How We’re Ready
Manufacturers need warehousing that moves with production, not against it. Here’s what we see shippers asking for in 2026, and how Journey is set up to meet it.
Flexible space without a long-term commitment
Our space can expand or contract with your production needs, so you don’t have to sign a long lease or build new.
More than storage
We offer quality control inspections and functional testing where needed, with issues reported in real time and documented with photos.
Careful handling from the moment a load arrives
Every inbound shipment gets a pre-unload inspection. Any damage is labeled and documented with timestamped photos. Pallet sensors track tipping and jostling, and alerts help us find problems quickly.
Real-time visibility
We integrate with your systems and provide real-time inbound and outbound status, automated notifications, and customer dashboards. You can see where your product is without making a phone call.
Responsible handling
We extend the useful life of materials and reduce waste through how we handle product, and we look for ways to lower our environmental impact.
What 2027 looks like for shippers
Industrial vacancy is in the mid-7% range. CoStar expects it to rise into 2027 before turning around in late 2027, as new supply slows and demand catches up. CoStar’s latest forecast puts average rent growth for 2026 and 2027 near 1.9%. For shippers, that means more room to negotiate on flexible space through the coming year. Trade policy, rising operating costs, and softer consumer goods spending remain the main risks to watch.
